What is a "virtual race"?

 

                  - A virtual race can be completed anywhere, at anytime, at a distance decided up on by the individual.  You can run, walk, swim, crawl, bike, etc...it is up to you!

                  - The races are set up to be 5k, 10k, 13.1 and beyond.  Like a normal race, you register and pay the fee and your entry ensures that you will recieve a bib and a custom finishers medal. (Possibly other incentives as we grow!)

                  - The races are done on the honor system, times and distances can not be used as proof of time to qualify for actual organized road races.

                  - The race can be completed anytime and can be done all at once or split up into multiple days.  Already running a race during the timeframe of the virtual?  Use that to earn your medal for the virtual!  Completing a training run?  That would also work.  Earn them in whatever way works for YOU!!

 

How does it all work?

 

1) Register for events on this website by going to the links at the bottom of this page.  You will be redirected to a secured shopping cart page where you can register using either a PayPal account or Visa / MasterCard / AMEX / Discover.

 

2) Go to our Facebook group page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/onemonkeysmiracle/ and “like” the page if you haven’t done so already.  Please note:  you do NOT have to be on Facebook to participate.  We only suggest this step so that we (those involved in the group) can cheer you on and congratulate you when you’ve completed one of our races.  It also allows for you to post photos of your successes as well as yourself with the medal(s) once recieved.

 

3) Prior to each event start date, you will receive instructions on retrieving your personalized bib to wear during your virtual run if you so choose - this is not a requirement.

 

4) Run, walk, swim, bike, crawl - just MOVE - the 5k (3.1 miles); 10k (6.2 miles) or the half marathon (13.1 miles) distance anytime between the start and end dates that have been allocated for that particular race.

 

5) Have someone take your picture with your bib/medal on and then post that to our Facebook page along with your finishing time - if you choose to share.  (If you’re not on Facebook, you may email your pictures and results to OneMonkeysMiracle@gmail.com)

 

6) You will receive the official finisher’s medal pictured on the event info page for completing the virtual run.  These are gorgeous, custom-made medals.  If you’d like to know more or have questions, please click here.

 

Please note, the first 100 registered are always the first to receive their medals.  Your results will NOT be recorded as official results, nor will you be eligible for age group awards or rankings.
